Got the train down to Allepey in order to get the local ferry through the backwaters to Kollam.
It's a very pretty town with lots of canals filled with lillies. Met some local kids keen to practice their English.
Found a really great place to have dinner. It was a little local place that we probably would have just walked past except the name rang a bell from Lonely Planet. We had a fab masala Dosa, tea and coffee for just 30R. Bargain. I think we were probably the only tourists to have been there in at least a year as we got lots of stares, but also lots of smiles and polite questions. It was just us and the locals, just how we like it.
