Rode through the backwaters on the local ferry. It was incredibly hot but nice and slow so that you could get a good look at the local life on the riverbanks. The scenery was beautiful.
Lunch was served in a hut on the side of the river. Rice, fish and vegetables served on a banana leaf. Delicious.
On arrival at Kollam, we decided to go straight on to Varkala as it is only an hour away and we love it there.
